GETTING AROUND & LOCAL RESOURCES IN ISLAMORADA
Islamorada is only a couple hour drive from the Miami airport (MIA), sometimes less depending on where you’re staying. Most visitors choose to fly there or to Fort Lauderdale (FLL), then rent a car or take an airport shuttle. While it is possible to stay in Islamorada without a car, especially if you are staying in one of the larger resorts, having one is recommended as it will open up a world of possibilities for cuisine and cultural exploration.
It doesn’t take too many tropical breezes, days fishing on the water and night dancing beneath the stars to decide Islamorada should be more than just a vacation — it should be home. Good thing Islamorada has all of the services to make that happen. Below you’ll find a comprehensive list of them, including real estate agents, banks and hospitals.
