FISHING, DIVING & WATERSPORTS IN KEY LARGO

Elbow, Molasses, Carysfort and French are just a few of the spectacular reefs off Key Largo that draw divers and snorkelers from around the world. The Christ of the Abyss statue awaits underwater explorers with outstretched arms. Deep-sea fishing is in full force here, and a close proximity to the Everglades makes for excellent backcountry boat adventures. But trying to describe the elation of being on top of or underneath the ocean here always ends up sounding like some trite postcard slogan. “Dive into the crystal-blue waters of our tropical ocean paradise.” Blah, blah, blah. The thing is, there is no way to construe the emotion of watching a six-foot ray fly through the water, or a child catching her first fish. They are simply moments that must be experienced to understand. So, in summation, the water is really frickin’ amazing here. Below is a guide to help you plan your ocean extravaganza.
